Cloudy day surf

Yesterday was a cloudy day but we had fun waves. The rainy season has started in Japan.

Hamamatsu surf trip

The other day, we went to Hamamatsu in Shizuoka pref to surf and eat the good food. But the weather was bad.

This was the dumpling meal at Fukumitsu.(福みつ) It's fried until very crispy. So yum, but I was too full to move!

We stayed in the cheap hotel. It cost $35 a night. 

Perhaps, this building was the post office in past days. But it was enough to sleep.

Next day, the waves were generally OK. We had a fun time. See the next surf trip!

 

Early summer day

I thought that summer might already have come. We had a lot of fun waves in IRAGO area.

I caught rainbow trouts

We went fly fishing at KUROYA(fishing hole) in Gujo, Gifu prefecture.

In KUROYA, encircling two ponds, it features mountains and streams from which you can enjoy beautiful views of water and surrounding foliage.

I hit a big one! 

We used thin fishing line, so it took ten minutes to land this one.

Finally, I caught it! I took a picture and released it. We truly enjoyed the fishing here.

 

Toyama trip

The other day, I went to Toyama to catch up with my old friend T. We went to the same college and used to go surfing and snowboarding. 

It's a superb view of the North Japan Alps.

Toyama-city runs street car. 

We had a dinner at Japanese pub in Toyama-city. 

The fishes straight from the sea tasted soooooo good! We talked about old days and updated each other.
But the next morning, waves were too small to surf. So we were hanging around the city and skateboarding in the large park.

And we had curried rice for lunch at GO!GO!CURRY!. It's very heavy but so good! There are two stores in NY as well.
I feel I am so lucky to have such a good friend who share the good memories...thank you for your hospitality T! I am looking forward to go surf with you next day!
